Removing image backgrounds
Supported files, output options, backgrounds, crop, shadow and limits.

Supported files
- Input: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 22 MB and 50 megapixels, as an upload, a public URL or base64 data.
- Output: PNG (transparency), WebP (transparency, smaller files), JPG (no transparency) or ZIP (colour image, alpha mask and metadata, for building your own composites).
Options

| Size | preview (fast, up to 0.25 MP, 0.25 credit), full (original resolution, 1 credit) or auto |
| Subject type | Hint for the model: auto, person, product, animal, car or graphic |
| Background | Transparent, a colour (for example white or #1E3A8A), or your own image URL (+0.5 credit) |
| Crop | Trims empty space around the subject |
| Margin | Padding around the subject after cropping |
| Shadow | Adds a soft shadow under the subject |
Tips for clean edges
- Use a photo where the subject contrasts with the background and isn't cut off at the edges.
- Set the subject type when you know it (for example product for packshots).
- Check the result with the QualityGuard badge. If edges need work, open the image in Image Studio and refine the mask.
Results
Results are stored for 7 days and then deleted, so download what you need. Images over 50 MP cost 2 credits.
