Quick start: your first cutout in 2 minutes
Create an account, remove a background in the dashboard, then make your first API call.

1. Create your free account
Go to Get API Key and sign up with your email or with Google. Every new account gets 50 free credits and its own workspace. That's enough for 50 full-resolution images or 200 previews.
2. Remove a background in the dashboard
- Open Remove Background in the dashboard sidebar.
- Drop in a JPG, PNG or WebP image (up to 22 MB), or paste an image URL.
- Choose an output format and background: transparent, a colour or an image.
- Click Remove background and download the result.
3. Create an API key
Open Developers → API Keys and click Create key. Copy the key straight away: it's shown only once.
4. Make your first API call
Replace the key and run:

With response_type=binary the response is the cut-out image itself. Leave it out to get JSON with a download link, the image size and the credits used. See API quick start for Python, JavaScript and PHP.
